The scorching heat in
Dubai can greatly impact your car tyres. Their efficiency and functionality can
mean a difference between a smooth ride and an accident. While branded tyres do
last more and work better, some adverse environmental and technical factors can
affect the life of your car tyres. So, we are sharing a few warning signs that
indicate you should start looking for reputable car tyre dealers in Dubai to
get new high-quality car tyres.
1.
Tread depth is reaching close to 1/16
of an inch.
The tread on a tyre is
meant to facilitate optimum grip on the road in dry and wet conditions. According
to tyre manufacturers, your car tyre tread must not fall below 1/16 of an inch
in depth. So, if the tread blocks are not pronounced anymore or are not equal
to the tread height, it can mean only one thing - change your old car tyres
with new ones immediately. Driving on wheels with no tread means your car is
not getting a hold of the road, which can lead to a big catastrophe.
2.
Your car tyres have been used for
around four years.
As tyres are used and get old, they wear out eventually. Car tyre manufacturers say that the rubber life of a tyre is four years from the time you start using them. This applies only when car tyres have been stored in a dry and cool environment after manufacturing.
However, the length of time can vary with brands. So, check out the invoice of your car tyres and see when they were bought and used to replace the previous cars. If it is the first time, you can do it simply by checking when you bought your car.
Irrespective of the
tread depth, you should replace your car tyres every four-five years (or based
on the brand). It is because environmental factors like heat can weaken the
inner layers of your car tyres, which can further lead to blowouts.
3.
Your car tyres have sidewall cracks,
punctures, bulges, or blisters.
Micro-cracks on the sidewall of a car tyre are warning signs of deterioration. It can also lead to catastrophic tyre blowouts. Though the radial layers are embedded with layers of beadings, sidewalls are kept soft so that a tyre can absorb the impact and flex when you drive through rough surfaces and undulations.
But, if the sidewall of a tyre is ever punctured, it must be replaced immediately as it can no longer maintain pressure efficiently. Though there are remedies to fix sidewall punctures, they are not foolproof methods. Thus, a car tyre with sidewall cracks or punctures must be replaced at the earliest.
The same goes for a
tyre’s sidewalls with bulges or blisters that cause the sidewall to extend
outwards. Not replacing such tyres can also lead to a blowout.
4.
You are experiencing more vibrations
than usual.
As time passes and you become familiar with how your car behaves, you can easily recognize additional vibrations that were not there before while driving. Though many reasons might cause these vibrations, it can be worthwhile checking your tyres to rule any abnormality in tyres. Unbalanced wheels can create vibrations to the steering wheel.
If you are getting any of these warning signs from your car tyres, know that it’s time to replace your old dying car tyres with new, robust ones. To ensure that you are getting only original brand car tyres, we highly recommend you to purchase car tyres from a reputable car tyre dealer in Dubai.
